[Expert opinion] - Africa at the Center of Global Supply

As the U.N. General Assembly approaches, African leaders are sure to have the Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI) on their agendas.  

Launched in 2022 by the U.N. Global Compact, GABI’s aim is to support Africa’s “rightful place in the global economy” by improving the outlook for business, trade, and investment on the continent. The initiative names a $3 trillion market opportunity that has the potential to transform our collective economies and has driven significant business involvement. 

Ultimately, the success of GABI hinges on prioritizing and addressing the supply chain issues that hinder Africa's growth and stymies our economic futures. Here are three critical areas that heads of state should prioritize for GABI’s success:
